A series of stool studies exploring CNC and robotic fabrication in conjunction with sustainable material sources. Tops and bases are designed to be swapped easily with one bolt connection and friction fitting between steel rod and top. Steel rods are joined with one simple hidden welded connection. Materials include: Hempcrete (Hemp Hurd, Lime, Metokaolin, Portland Cement), Mycelium with Hemp Hurd Substrate, Locally Sourced Walnut, 3/8” Steel Rod, Birch Ply, Douglas Fir.
Hempcrete Studies
A series of slip cast studies in Hempcrete exploring different constitutions of the mixture. A range of pigments and sealants are also explored. Ingredients include: Hemp Hurd, Hydrated Lime, Hydraulic Lime, Metokaolin, Portland Cement, Slag, Fly-Ash, Seaweed Bio-Plastic, Agar Bio-Plastic, Egg, Water-Based Polyurethane, Iron Oxide and Cobalt Pigments.
