Daniel Ruan

Ph.D. Student in Architecture

Daniel Ruan is a research assistant at ADR. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with his B.Arch and MS Architectural Science degrees, followed by the MS Digital Materials and Technologies program at the University of Michigan. Daniel has experience in a wide range of digital and fabrication technologies, including Grasshopper plugin development, energy analysis, CFD simulations, tool development, and more. His interests include the interface between humans and digital processes, in how the collaborative efforts of both can heighten the design process of architecture in research, teaching, and practice.
